Referral Sources

  • 100% reported they were “highly satisfied” or “satisfied” with their patient’s treatment at NTPRC.

 In a 1 Year Follow-Up

  • 86 % reported they need very little or no help with daily activities.
  • Only 4% reported a reoccurrence of severe depression or anxiety.

 Return to Work

77% of NTPRC’s pain management patients (who were not retired) returned to work.

This compares favorably to a 67% return-to-work rate that been reported nation-wide for multidisciplinary chronic pain programs.  It is also much better than 36% return-to-work rate for chronic pain syndrome patients who have spinal surgery, the 20% return-to-work rate for repeated spinal surgery, the 25% return to work rate for patients wit spinal cord stimulators, or the 25% return to work rate for those patients treated with other conventional medical treatments.  (“Clinical outcome and economic evaluation of multidisciplinary pain centers.”  Okifuji, Akiko; Turk, Dennis; Kalauokalani, Donna  in  Handbook of Pain Syndromes by Block, Kremer and Fernandez.)

Here Is What The Accreditation Surveyors Are Saying About NTPRC:

Our 2006 CARF survey noted:

“NTPRC provides quality services to the populations it serves.”  Furthermore, NTPRC has “admirable success rates”

“The organization is recognized for its excellent outcomes for pain management, function, and return-to-work measures.”

“Persons served (patients) clearly make measurable progress toward their predicted outcomes.”

“A dedicated and committed staff member coordinates the activities for persons in the interdisciplinary pain and occupational rehabilitation programs.  Each phase of the program has well-defined processes that are goal oriented to attain optimal outcomes for the person served.”

“The experience, knowledge, and expertise of the executive leadership and treatment staff are integral and invaluable to the operations of the organization.  The center’s reputation in the medical rehabilitation community is well established and has propelled the organization to its current state of success.  A strong commitment to excellence is demonstrated in the direction of the program.”

“Case managers work diligently throughout all phases of admission and treatment.  Barriers to recovery are concurrently identified and addressed to assist persons served in attaining their program goals.”

“The psychological component of the program is a hallmark of the organization.  Assessments are based on the results of relevant psychometric tests, and the experience and expertise of counselors have allowed persons served to attain functional results in a shorter time frame.”

“The medical director is commended for his management of medication usage of the persons served to attain the predicted outcomes”

CARF also praised NTPRC’s innovative electronic (paperless) documentation system, free patient transportation, strong discharge planning, psychological assessments, and excellent medical education classes for patients.

CARF awarded NTPRC the highest level of accreditation that can be awarded to an organization.

The 2007 AAPM survey noted:

“There are many things to commend about the (pain management) program, particularly the dedicated staff and excellent clinical care.”

AAPM also noted “the dedication (NTPRC) has shown for providing quality pain management.  The American Academy of Pain Management is proud to have you on its roster of pain management programs.”

AAPM awarded NTPRC full three-year accreditation as an “outpatient comprehensive multidisciplinary pain program.”

Here is a recent sampling of what NTPRC’s patients are saying:

“Before I started the pain management classes I didn’t have confidence in anything concerning my life.  I felt that I was useless and life wasn’t worth living.  Things have drastically changed for me, all for the better.  This program has changed my attitude and given me confidence in myself and my future.  Wow, what a turnaround!”

“The staff and therapists have been a great help to me.  They have helped me realize there is hope and I can be all that I want to be.  It helps having someone to listen to your problems.  It has also been helpful being with other patients that are experiencing similar problems.  If it were not for this program I know that I would not be where I am today.  I am out of the valley now and climbing the mountain, one step at a time!”

“I believe most people with injuries like mine should come to a program like this.  It has strengthened me and I have been help by its structure more than any other treatment I have experienced.”

“The staff (at NTPRC) is great!  Everyone did everything possible to help me get better.”

“Everyone was very helpful and caring!”

“I feel blessed to have been here!”

“The program was very good.  It was just what I needed!”

“The staff here is fantastic with instruction, suggestion and support.  I could not have possibly been treated better during my time here.”

“The program got me out of where I was and kept me focused on where I need to be.”

“Everyone working here has excellent knowledge of what they are doing.  I would give it an overall rating of 110%.  Love it, hate to leave.”

“The doctors have been great, and the staff has been really helpful and supportive!”

“The management and staff were great!  The program is the best!”

“Keep up the good work and never change.  Everyone has been a great help to me.  I will never forget any of you.  You are like my family and I will miss each of you.”

“This program is very helpful, don’t change it.  Keep it the way you have it.”

“I really enjoyed the classes.  This is a great place to be!”

“You have a great staff and program.  Don’t stop anything you are doing!”

“I firmly believe that anyone who has been injured on the job should be referred to NTPRC as soon as possible to avoid extended time off work.  This has helped me get back to a normal life.”
